Losing a loved one can be very painful and create a extremely difficult experience. Handling what comes next while processing the emotions of it all can be  stressful.  Also, there are many expenses associated with death that may be hard to immediately cover and on average can exceed $8500.

Final expense life insurance can cover 100% of the costs associated with a funeral or cremation and save family members from having to come up with the money on their own.  Because the reality is, many people don't have $8500 under their mattress! The last thing someone should have to do is sell their precious assets in order to quickly come up with the money needed to bury a loved one.

This information is from the National Funeral Directors Associations latest survey.
These are estimates only.  Often prices vary by state.
Additional charges not included in the NFDA estimate include:
  • Cemetery plot, headstone, flowers etc.
  • "Prepetual Care" fee upkeeping your plot. This will either be a yearly fee or a one time charge called "perpetual care." This usually costs about $2,000. This fee covers landscaping, and general upkeep.
MAKE SURE TO ASK QUESTIONS! The FTC requires funeral directors to provide itemized prices for all services related to the funeral!

--Social Security only pays a lump final expenses sum of $255 for those who qualify.
